Exposure Ed Mobile Application Redesign
The Exposure Ed Application delivers information on military-related exposures to healthcare providers.
Providers can also access information on exposure-related programs and benefits offered by the Department of Veteran's Affairs.
While at Prometheus Federal Services, I had the pleasure of working with the Veteran's Health Administration and providing the Exposure Ed Application for the US Government with an entire redesign of the application. Since the previous application already had a developed user flow, I was tasked with building on top of what was already made and provided the application with a facelift, thus making it easier for veterans to assess their participation eligibility. The application's redesign is still undergoing the process of backend implementation.
Tools Used: Miro, Figma, Pinterest, Dibbble, Behance Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft 365
The current version of Exposure Ed app has an outdated design. However, the process of selecting an exposure, viewing symptoms description, and adding them to notes has been streamlined efficiently. Despite this, there is still room for improvement in terms of making exposure search quicker and more personalized for the user.
This homepage is the initial screen that appears when the application is launched. It prominently displays big buttons that lead to different sections such as exposures, dates & locations, conflicts, and more.
Upon selecting the "Exposures" option, the user is presented with an extensive list of exposures that can be scrolled through. Upon locating the desired exposure, the user can click on its corresponding button to access further details.
After selecting, the user is presented with a description of their relevant exposure along with additional information such as sections that provide further details on symptoms and locations.
I collaborated with the Veteran's Health Administration to develop a redesign for this user flow, which not only enhances the app's visual appeal but also provides veterans with a faster way to access necessary features.
Our visual redesign was influenced by our research on medical diagnosis using platforms like Pinterest Dribbble.
The button animation highlights have been updated to provide improved feedback when buttons are selected.
We have revamped the Exposures page with a user-friendly design and added a search bar at the top for easy access.
The user chooses the exposure that corresponds to them.
Similar to the previous version, the user receives a summary of their relevant exposure and supplementary details on symptoms and locations. Nevertheless, each section is now simplified for better comprehension, and the "add to NOTE" feature has been revamped to offer improved confirmation and feedback to the user.
The search function is the most significant feature added to the user flow. Its main purpose is to enable users to quickly access the information they need. This feature is particularly useful for providers who need to find and assist patients with exposure diagnosis. When a user types in the search bar, they are presented with a list of results that match their search query.
Once the user chooses their relevant exposure, they receive the same highlighted feedback.
Once the user chooses their relevant exposure, they are redirected to the diagnosis page for "Burn Pits" where they can add each section to their corresponding notes.
